CURRENT MISSION

I would love to live in Europe for part of the year and hike and bike. What I would really like is to live in Europe for a period of time but not sure where or for how long.

ABOUT ME

My best friends, which are few , would say that I am a good listener, funny, generous, sometimes very silent, and they would all say that I bring out the best in the relationship. They would say that I am very independent and I am sometimes hard to pin down as I tend to like doing my own thing without a lot of constraints. They would say they like my home as it is very warm and relaxing without a lot of fru fru.

PHILOSOPHY

Live and let live and don't take yourself too seriously and be able to forgive yourself for mistakes made and especially forgive others.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

This is my first couch surfing experience as I have traveled extensively in Europe Hawaii and Japan I have always stayed in youth hostels. Hosting is certainly a much more sane way to travel and host and provides a great avenue to get to know others in a more intimate and culturally experiential manner.

Interesses

I believe that I have made a very nice home on the central coast of California. I love being here but I also love being away in other parts of the world because in the back of my mind I have a nice and safe place to come back to. In the orning I like to get up and have my coffee and work the daily sudoku and greet the day. I like planning my next international vacation as I like to have neat things to look forward to. Then I do house work and plan projects in the yard to make my place a little better. Then I like to do some kind of volunteer work or make myself available to others who don't have as much to give back to life. And then I like to cook a good meal and sometimes share it with others. Músicas, Filmes e Livros

Pillars of the Earth,World Without End, Alienist, Angels of Darkness, lots of Michener, Fall of Giants, Winter of the World, Koontz, Ted Bell, P.D. James, Wilbur Smith, Coontz, John LeCarre, Rutherford, etc . There are a lot more but I have especially enjoyed the above and many more books. I love to read and sometimes I think I use it as an excuse to be lazy and avoid some of the things I should be doing at home.
I listen to music but more often the case is I love the peace of silence.

Uma Coisa Incrível que Eu Fiz

The first and maybe the most revealing of who I am was when I had an epiphany and it was revealed to me that I never in my life needed to be saddled with the obsession with alcohol. My life since that moment has been blessed and I practice gratitude every day. After that everything pales in comparison but what comes to mind are my hikes with my family across England, hiking in the Pyrenees with my family and doing a pilgrimage from Porto Portugal to Santiago Compostella the same year that, 'The Way' was filmed.

I love my present job and that is working for MHN and going to military bases throughout the world helping military men and women including families resolve their problems or living situations that they find difficult. I learn a great deal from those that I work with and the inherent experiences that working in a foreign country provides. The older I get the more I realize how little I know.
