About Me

I like animals and bicycles. I like making art and hiking, drinking local adult beverages, watching movies, playing board/card games, bowling, billiards, skating rinks, tree forts, gardening, cob houses, fixing things that are broken, and being a goofball.

I have a website to showcase my artwork and various projects on if you want to learn more about all of that:

And I do the Instragram thing: trailers4all

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Well obviously I'm on couch surfing because it's a cheap way to travel! I'm an artist, which means my income is kind of small. I like to travel, and right now I live in Santa Cruz, but routinely commute up to Oakland for work/teaching welding at The Crucible. I'd love to move to Oakland but the cost of living/average rent there is restrictively expensive. I'm still trying to decide if I'll end up trying to move there, or to some other far-flung corner of the world. I want to be somewhere where I feel like I belong.

Music, Movies, and Books

Musically I'm pretty amenable to a good many things, genres and sub-genres. . . just ask? Lately I've been listening to a cd called The Best of Salt-N-Pepa

I do listen to podcasts a lot:
Judge Jon Hodgman
Unfictional
Radiolab
This American Life
Savage Lovecast
99% Invisible

Bookwise, I've been on a Robbins kick lately, but more recently than that I picked up a subscription to the Sunday NYT, which, in tandem with a subscription to Mother Jones, has sucked up all of my available reading time. I also enjoy Sedaris, Rackoff, Bryson, Vonnegut, and lots of other writers and works. Reading is cool.

And yay moving pictures!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One time I biked about 1600 miles along the Atlantic coast of France, down and over to Marseilles. I'd like to do that again someday.

Teach, Learn, Share

I do all kinds of things, so hit me up if you'd like advice about screen printing, metal working, welding more specifically, bicycle repair, illustration or tattooing (I'm a self-taught novice in the art form of tattooing. I think I do fairly well.).

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm happy to help cook and play a game, provide some company and conversation if that's a thing hosts are hoping to get more of in their lives.
