honestly I am really glad this site exists since the old-school model tourism of"get off the plane/cruise-boat, walk around in your little group of ppl from same country,take pictures of the 'natives', always be an outsider" really doesn't do it for me :)

everytime I visit a new country, my #1 goal is to experience life as the local people do, as best I can.To understand their joys and pain and ideas. For me, "foreigner" is a dirty word, we are all members of the same human race after all. :)

I am a big internationalist, a writer, a lover of world music and culture....for me, the two most important things in my life are to be kind to others, and to always try to improve and expand my mind and soul in some way.
