About Me

CURRENT MISSION

exploring new fun things to do and see

ABOUT ME

Some people see me as a geek, but those who know me better, acknowledge that I have quiet a wide interest.

I am highly analytical, but I also have an emotional side (or should I say, an other brain part running independently from my ratio). (Why am I telling this? Is this a hospitality network or a dating site? ;-) )

PHILOSOPHY

I am an adept to nixism. I do not follow any ideology or movement by conviction. (However, I do value basic human values. But I do not need a movement for that.)
I also do not believe in supernatural forces or beings, but I respect other peoples believes as long a they respect mine and other's.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I joined CS not long ago. I am one of the regular guests at the local meetings, and I sometimes go surfing with some town mates. I also offer a couch, but I haven't had surfers yet.

Por miaj esperantistaj geamikoj: CS estas granda urbo, sed Esperantio ĉiam restos mia hejma vilaĝo.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I attended some local CS meetings, and I went on a collective CS trip two times -once domestic, and once international. However, as an Esperanto speaker, I already had a lot of similar experiences. I have hosted people from Germany, France, Russia, and Japan, and I was a guest at homes in Germany, Hungary, Ukraine, China, and some other countries. I know it is a fun and enriching experience.

Interests

I have been a practicing Esperanto speaker since 1993. I regularly visit Esperanto events, and I have made a lot of friends there.
Another long-time hobby is theatre. I started with acting - and I still like that - but in 2004, I made the move to study directing, and I got my diploma in 2009. Currently, I have picked up acting again, and I am experimenting with making tiny movies.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen or watch any genre, as long as it has quality. My music library ranges from girl groups to heavy metal. I do not own a TV (waste of time), but I enjoy watching Star Trek (I have 17 seasons on DVD), Monty Python's Flying Circus, and - naturally - The Big Bang Theory. I enjoy reading Wikipedia, but I do not have the patience to read novels.

Teach, Learn, Share

How about the basics of the international language Esperanto?
Or how to make a traditional Dutch stew?
