Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love hosting parties, sharing my life experiences and learning stuff about living in other cultures. And have some space to share for a couple of nights, and would love an opportunity to have a chat and a place to stay for a couple of day somewhere down the line.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to a wide variety of classic rock (from Pink Floyd to Fleetwood Mac) and heavy metal (from Iron Maiden to Immortal), occasionally some psy trance and electronic music. My favourite bands at the moment are Eluveitie, Motorhead, Behemoth, Halestorm and Genesis (incl. Phil Collins and Peter Gabriel)
I enjoy a lot of movies - except for art-house and overcommercialized pop flicks.
Recently I've shifted my literature interest to non-fiction, but I enjoy a lot of Stephen King and have been brought up on the works of Tolkien, Zelazny, Bradbury, Jules Verne, Sheckley and Simak. I've also enjoyed works of Andrzey Sapkovsky and George Martin.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've designed my apartment on my own, even though I've never even thought about design work. Oh, and I've managed to drop out of my university - three times over.

I'm always willing to look at the actual living experience in other cultures, the political, social and mundane issues that escape the media attention, and I'm willing to speak frankly and objectively about the russian way of life.
