My name is Dmitriy (Dmitry) or simply Dima. My friends often call me "Sova" because it's my stage name. I am very kind, polite, and calm. I am a risky guy and like extreme sports, especially surfing, but in dealing with people I like to be careful and safe. And I expect that from them. It's very easy with me, I don't need a lot of comfort or special conditions. I just like making friends around the world.
I am a professional engineer and math major in the past, but I recently changed my life and now I am a professional musician. I play in nightclubs and bars. I play electronic music and sometimes vinyl. I also organize concerts or performances. In the future, I plan to study psychology, to help people with depression through music. In my free time, I teach classes in musical meditation and art therapy. I like philosophy, good movies, photography, and traveling.
I adore pets, especially cats. (I have a big black cat living at home :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I used to travel with a tent or live in hotels, with little interaction with local people. And I realized I was missing out on a lot. Even since the pandemic began, I have begun to feel lonely. I want to remember that kind and warm-hearted people live all over the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm DJ and most of the time I play organic house and techno, or melodic house and techno. I also love classical music and sometimes something happy and playful: disco or indie dance. I love science fiction books, but unfortunately most of the time I read documentation and instructions for my musical instruments and programs.

I can teach you Russian (a bit:) And if you have your own club or bar (cafe, poolside, and so on), or if you have a friend who needs a DJ for a party, I'd love to play for you. The only requirement: your DJ system must be Pioneer or Denon and support flash sticks.
