About Me

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because of a friend who I met whilst travelling in Brazi who is a frequent couchsurfer. Travelling with her in Brazil gave me my first taste of couchsurfing and doing so has only encouraged me to get my own profile up and join the club. I have met some truly fascinating people along the way and learnt, seen and done things I would never have encountered had I stayed at a hostel with other travellers. For example, going to some language workshops and hanging out with the students at the federal university of Bahia.
Of course, none of this would be possible without the values of sharing and the members that make couchsurfing work so well... so sign me up!

Music, Movies, and Books

My ears are open to whatever you throw at me but I am big on all kinds of electronic: house, breakbeat drum n bass and jungle, grime , dubstep bla bla.
Breaks, hip hop, trip-hop and reggae too.

Wouldn't be able to tell you my favourite books or films if I tried. That answer would probably change from one day to the next...
I can be a bit of a geek and easily stick my nose into an academic, generl science or factual book. Quitr badly read on fiction in recent times but Day Of the Jackal and Shantaram are two great books that come to mind.
As for today's favourite movies: Shawshank Redemption (of course), Goodfellas and other Scorsese flicks

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Leaving my job to see the world and allow for all the other amazing experiences life has granted me.

Snorkelling with sharks, turtles, penguins, turtles and many more in Galapagos.

Getting lost and spending the night in a Malaysian jungle before eventually finding my way out again.
