About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be polite, friendly and respectful to other people. To be a good person, keep my word always, act according to my principles. To value differences. To face my fears every day. to be proactive. To help others. to continually develop my talents and skills

ABOUT ME

I am friendly, easy going and physically active. I love nature, which is why my wife Xochilt moved to my farm in the countryside.

Xochilt is a lovely young woman, a communicator by profession, extremely tidy and with very well developed sense of sight, hearing and, above all, smell. She has an aversion to bacteria and to human or animal odors, so please approach her only when very clean, lol. She likes to cook, do the laundry and take care of our daughter, born in 2018, and of me.

I love people and usually get along with everybody. I like to talk and to listen to nice stories and jokes. I love to dance and to walk in the woods.

PHILOSOPHY

I like to continually improve myself. I am always learning.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We moved from Managua to Jinotepe, Carazo, a lovely state with a year-round spring-time weather. I will no longer be able to host people at Managua but you are welcome at my 23 hectare (58 acre, 33 manzana) farm, which is a dreamy place full of tree cover, just one hour away from Managua and 1.5 kms from the bus terminal in the city, which is the department´s capital. That is about 5 minutes by car and less than half an hour walking.

At the farm you can place your camping tent or hang hammocks. We have running water but currently electricity is only from solar panels. The temperature is very confortable, the topography is rather flat and my seven dogs reside there. All of them are friendly except the Rottweiler, which is tied down about two hundred meters away from the house. I also have cats and plenty of fish, mainly koi and butterfly koi.

At the farm I have 2.5 kms of paths, mostly under tree cover. I am planting fruit trees and placing water for wildlife to drink, all along the paths, to attract wildlife.

I kindly request people not to feed the fish, to be kind and not disturb the wildlife, which consists of howler monkeys, foxes, possums, squirrels, rabbits, weasels and plenty of birds. I also request visitors to dispose of garbage properly and not to distract the farm workers during work hours.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been lucky to host very nice people from Argentina, Costa Rica, East and West Germany, France, Italy, Great Britain, Guatemala, Poland, Russia, USA, Colombia, Guatemala, Japan, Malaysia, Great Britain, Denmark, Canada and Australia. So far, I have had only extremely pleasant experiences.
