About Me
Hey, My Name is Daniel!
I was born in California but grew up in Boston, where there is a distinct local "Flavor" or "Atmosphere." Boston radiates with a very local welcoming feel where die-hard sports fans, long time family owned businesses, and generations of families exist. You could say that Boston gives an authentic local homely vibe, and that's where I spent most of my life in. I'm almost finished with school (just another 6 months yay!) My family is quite small, only my Mother and Brother. On the other for the people I consider "family" is quite large consisting of a handful of friends whom I grew up with in High school and another handful from childhood. I LOVE BASKETBALL! whether it be playing, watching, even listening! I have a peculiar palette, quite open to tasting many different or unique cuisines. Before I rant on too long... I also play video/computer games.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
This summer will be my first (of many) "backpacking" trips to Europe I'm hoping to meet people and become more sociable. I've heard a great deal of things from some people whom, although aren't quite someone I look up to, are older, more knowledgeable, and have experience Couchsurfing. Also another key factor is while being a student in the Americas, student loans make budget quite tight! I hope to gain or exchange some understanding of local cultures when I meet people, and vice versa. (Will be looking to update this part in particular as I'm still searching for myself and what I want to do in the future!)

Music, Movies, and Books
For music I'm open to anything! Although I prefer more old-school artists such as the Untouchables (Korean), Eun Ji-won, J.Cole, and Nujabes all of which incorporate piano or R&B.
As for Movies I'm quite fond of Mark Wahlberg, I do however am a Big fan of movies such as LINSANITY (BASKETBALL) Studio Ghibli movies, Interstellar, The Man from Nowhere, John Wick 1&2, Edge of Tomorrow, and 21/22 Jump St.
My Book list isn't as long as my Music or movies but have a look! A song of Fire and Ice (Martin), Shōgun (Clavell), How to win friends and influence people (Carnegie), Oedipus Rex (Sophocles), Koe no Katachi (Ōima), Invented Inference (Shirodaira).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I don't have too much spectacular things I've done, but I am proud of the time I dedicate to helping others and the amount of times I've donated blood, I have around 1700 hours of volunteering, mainly at walks (Walk for hunger, Alzheimers, Bread, Blindness, Lupus, Relay for life, Mudrun, Soup kitchens, Salvation army, summer festivals) just to name a few. 21 times have I donated blood (Boston Red Cross) with my easily anemic body. Oh another thing 1st place in the 2011 Museum of Science EurekaFest™.
Teach, Learn, Share
My specialties include sports and game sense, so I could teach people a thing or 2 about basketball whether it be competition level or street play although my personal skills aren't quite as advanced as my knowledge on the subject. I play a lot of MOBA games so there's some things I can introduce to help get started, there was also a small time in my life where I played "Super Smash Bros. Melee" in competitions and tournaments. I know a few unorthodox card games too (the more the merrier!). I'd Like to learn how to cook genres of food or cuisine. I would also like to learn about the personalities and variances of different cultures, seeing as I only know about my demographic (Asian American). I don't have too much to share besides my experiences volunteering or how it's like growing up in America as an Asian (or America in general).
What I Can Share with Hosts
As much as I've already covered this topic, I can tell you all about the sports culture I grew up in, how quickly trends and crazes in the Americas come and go, what it's like to volunteer, how exciting and E-sports can be, or growing up and the cultures I've Experienced!
