Über mich

CURRENT MISSION

To love God and love people, to go on adventures, and to bake some amazing wild yeast bread!

ABOUT ME

I love hugs and I love to smile. I enjoy people and good, deep, meaningful conversation...but I also like to laugh a lot and be silly. Relationships with people are of utmost importance to me...what is life if you don't have other people with whom to share it? I love Jesus and try to follow His commands to love God and love people, though I mess it up quite a bit. I am married to a man I met while backpacking on the Appalachian Trail. We had our first child in April 2015, and he is the joy of our life!

I also love to bake and am currently (used to explore) exploring breads made with wild yeast (no commercial yeast needed!). It's been an adventure and a lot of fun. Besides baking, one of my favorite hobbies is backpacking in the wilderness, so I've done a few trails in the United States. I have found that one of the best ways to get to know an area is to head to the woods or the mountains and hike for a while.

I also enjoy cooking and have found great value in sharing nightly dinners as well as inviting others in to share with us. I love it! (the "nightly" part of this is now not-so-nightly, but still happens. I hope we can increase the frequency as we get the hang of life with a baby).

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have yet to utilize official "Couch Surfing" in reference to this site, but I have done some traveling and stayed with various types of people along the way. My best experience with this was while backpacking in the Eastern United States. I was backpacking in New Hampshire and happened to come to a town...It was raining and quite a nasty day...a kind lady pulled up to me while I was walking and asked if I wanted a place to stay for the night. It was a beautiful blessing! Her and her household took care of me, let me shower there, fed me, and shared good conversation...Hospitality at its finest!

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

I think one of the most amazing things I have done is experience the John Muir trail. I don't think I have ever seen anything so breath-taking and beautiful and with such landscape diversity. I was left almost speechless at the wonder of God's creation.
