About Me

I moved to the USA from Serbia in my late teens. After completing my PhD in Chicago, I became a part of a successful startup team in San Diego with a goal to discover novel drugs to treat liver disease. My other passions are sports: tennis and beach volleyball. Back in college, I played in Division I tennis team.

I do most of things I do so I can make more time for the future journeys. I love to experience the country though the eyes of the locals, and experience their culture, food and customs. A 10-day vacation is simply not enough; I always look forward to the opportunity to take more time off and truly engage in the new country.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In 2014/15 I've utilized the network to travel across Europe and attend some couchsurfing events. I've had a great time meeting other travelers and couchsurfers. I am still not able to host people in San Diego, but hope to be able to do so soon.

Below are some of my all time favorites: Hesse, Dumas, Tolkien, Dostoevsky, Steinbeck, Márquez, Fitzgerald.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've taken 8 months off to be constantly on the move and experience many countries of Europe and South America. It was one of the most incredible experiences. I look forward to having another opportunity for a similar adventure!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm always open to giving a tennis lesson or having a tennis game. I can talk about my many travel experiences. I can share stories about living in Serbia during the breakup of the former Yugoslavia. I'd love to learn about your culture, lifestyles, meet locals and their friends.
