About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Am currently in Italy on an extended vacation

ABOUT ME

See profile, facebook/Jim Lochead (Maestro)..the permanent tourist in Bologna..happy to share and mother you..always learning..

PHILOSOPHY

I am a militant pacifist; a leader follower; predictably unpredictable; never a bully, phony, nazi, bigot, racist, fascist, sadist, or mean person and yet very honest and frank about my feelings..pretty much like everybody except bullies, phonies, nazis, etc...favorite hero..Lisbeth Salander

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have now hosted quite a few CSers and friends..couples, male, female..people seem to enjoy their time with me as I do with them..

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A couple from near Lille, France..Law student from Norway..Teacher from Texas..fabulous people, got a chance to play basketball with 3 people from 3 different countries in one week..fed them well.."the good mother"..

Interests

cooking, carpentry, and crosswords..actually if I stayed at someone's place I would be more than happy to cook (and cook in only the true artful, delicious sense)..I seem to do this quite often..

Music, Movies, and Books

Independent Cinema (recently spent time watching Italian from late 40's on..a great history of the evolution of a society devastated in WWII)..over 1500 record albums,,have done 16 guest hostings on WMNF (on the web), playing all my own music and dialogue (from 1920's til tomorrow)..Am happy to be a reader..just finished Paul Robeson's book from the 50's, "Here I Stand"..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Working in Switzerland with my brother-in-law, Walter 45, Ernst 50, and myself 58..starting at 8:15 , loaded 2 sides of a roof, both 22' X 44', with concrete tiles..putting all the debris in bags as we loaded, installed all the concrete tiles, installed all the rake trim, installed all the ridge caps, installed all the snow stops ( I finished Ernst's side as he was having a problem with the placement) and finished by 3:10..really doesn't seem possible..but true

Teach, Learn, Share

Have taught carpentry and a strong work ethic for over 40 years and sports coach (mostly soccer, calcio, foosball) for about 20..am, to my detriment at times, very much a sharer..still, as an old dog, learning new tricks..

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Bahamas, France, Italy, Liechtenstein, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands, Spain, Tunisia, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
