About Me

CURRENT MISSION

live life, and live a really good life...

ABOUT ME

My name is Karen. I am a Canadian. I was originally born in China. My family and I moved to Canada when I was very young. So I come from an immigrant's family. That itself has its advantages and disadvantages.

There is no moral equivalence to education, else we wouldn't have those white collar crimes. That is what I honestly think about someone's Ivy League education. So whenever someone asks me about my education, I always tell them "I got a BA in BS"

After school I worked as a software developer in Toronto for almost 2 years and then joined Microsoft in Seattle full time. I also interned at MS as an undergrad.

You see, I haven't really done much with my life. I either studied or worked. That is it. I am not very happy with my life in Seattle. I have done well at Microsoft. However my professional success didn't translate to personal happiness. So I decided to resign.

The first step I took is to travel to Israel, although this trip was booked before I handed in my resignation. There is something about this land that is just so mesmerizing.

After that I will go back to Toronto. I plan to start my own business, but of course, that is just one option. However, my natural talents are not in computer science. They are in history, language and arts. I would LOVE to be able to make a living by writing, blogging about my life, travel. So if you know such opportunities, please DO LET ME KNOW.

I want to create as many opportunities for myself if possible. Live life, and live a good life

PHILOSOPHY

1) I champion personal liberty and freedom

2) If you don't like something, take actions and change it, if you can't change it, at least take some actions, if you are not willing to even take any actions, then shut up and quit complaining :)

3) I am ..a little dark..and twisted...sometimes cynical....

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am fine to host for a CS surfer if needed as long as I am staying with my parents in Toronto. I don't own a house but they do, so you get the idea :)

I prefer to host girls just because of convenience.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

none so far, just joined recently.

Interests

First and foremost, i am a die hard fan of family guy!!

i am very into history and arts. i have a natural talent for language. the best compliment i received recently is "Oh my god, you speak such beautiful English, how did you get rid of your accent? " hahaha

I want to polish my French. I am sure I will learn a few sentences in Hebrew if possible

I love travelling

I like reading, watching a good movie/tv show

Talking to different kinds of people

I could get into coding or web development if I don't have an annoying boss who peeks over my shoulder all the time.
