One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Over 1 year sailing the remote, and often unchartered waters of the Papua New Guinea archipelago - used shell money and black tobacco to trade for lobster, coconuts and pineapples.

Climbed Mt Merapi volcano (Java, Indonesia) before it erupted. It was full moon, mist hung and the valley below and the eery tones of the gamelan penetrated the air as I dragged myself to what seemed like the top of the world.

The innocent joy of children (and adults) playing with a stick and a thong - all thread bare and beaming with smiles - on the concrete strip that was our driveway in Cambodia
