About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to get square (please see "A Gift for Melody Anne" by the Avett Brothers)

ABOUT ME

I read the Economist.

Transcendental metaphysics is rad.

I'm the type of person who uses philosophical terms like "incompossible possibilities" to win at games like "pass the bomb!"

While living in Dublin, I decided to display my friend's abstract "Thumb Photography" on our living room wall. Above the faux fireplace space heater that I later used to set my towel on fire.

I have a rabbit named Barnaby who has more personality than most people.

PHILOSOPHY

"Make your actions honest and natural in their hour" - Emerson

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

open mind, open heart.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

complete newbie - mostly.

Just had my first CS experience staying in Latvia - made use both of someone's couch, and met up with a bunch of other folks who had time and inclination to invite us out for food, drinks, music, and a bike trip to the coast. Brilliant!

Interests

photography, horseback riding, Iyengar yoga, bluegrass banjo, travel (this is probably a "duh"), reading, coffee, conversation, wine, excellent music, amusing antics, bumming rides on motorcycles (Kawasaki ZZR 1200 in Germany, and now a Suzuki Bandit 1200)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

200km/hr on the back of a motorcycle. yeah, this was my *inaugural* motorcycle experience...

kayaking off the coast of Corfu was also lovely/exhausting, considering the time of year

and driving 2000km up and down the northern half of Chile was a mistake. a big, big mistake.

Teach, Learn, Share

particularly interested in absorbing food/wine of different cultural regions (whatever the specialties "of the house" are)

if you're interested in the philosophy of religion, this is my area of PhD concentration (tho truth be told, I hate to talk shop!)

Countries I’ve Visited

Andorra, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Croatia, France, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Germany, Ireland, United States
