ABOUT ME

I am a mathematician (applied math). I am into cross country skiing, running, biking and love challenges in general. I also like learning about people and their stories.
I am a Czech, I have studied in New Mexico and lived in the U.S., Switzerland, Germany and, of course, the Czech Republic.

I have a family of two school boys, a little girl and one wonderful wife.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

For one, we offer our couch :-). We also spread the word about Couchsurfing - there are still many people who don't know about CS and some who find it hard to understand. Since for me learning about CS made me realize how many friendly community-oriented people there are worldwide, I believe that informing people about it may slightly change their minds about traveling and about people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have hosted unofficially a number of friends and acquintances - mainly while in Zurich (apparently an attractive destination).
So far two official CS experiences as a host and three as a guest - all very pleasant.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

had the guts to have 3 kids; more to the topic: hitchhiked solo Prague -> Paris, the last 300 km with a truck driver who spoke only turkish, drank while driving and wanted me to find a woman for him in Paris (I ran away eventually)
On a more positive note, the sleeping bag trips through national parks in the western U.S., which we did with my wife, were awesome.
