Overview
About Me
Hello fellow travelers!
I'm Doina, originally from Moldova but I've been living in Tortosa, a charming city in the south of Catalonia, my home for quite a while. By day, I work on exciting social projects with children and adolescents, focusing on leisure education and promoting values such as equal opportunities and fighting against mental health stigma. When the day is done, I enjoy spending quality time with my partner Björn, a high school teacher.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I'm on the road with my partner, Björn, we share a common love for meeting new people who can show us the hidden gems of a city or simply engage in delightful conversations. Exploring unique places, learning about local culture, and exchanging stories with fellow travelers add an extra layer of richness to our journeys. We believe that the best travel experiences are those shared with others, and we look forward to connecting with like-minded individuals who are passionate about exploration and cultural exchange.
I'm eager to rejoin the Couchsurfing community, opening my home to fellow travelers and sharing experiences. Whether you're interested in exploring Tortosa, the surrounding nature, or using it as a base to venture to Tarragona or Barcelona, my cozy home is ready to offer you a comfortable and welcoming place to rest.
Let's connect and create lasting memories together!
Interests
I find joy in the simple pleasures of life—hiking in the mountains, watching thought-provoking movies, and engaging in deep conversations with friends, pondering the mysteries of life.
Cooking is another one of my passions, and I'd be more than happy to treat you to traditional Spanish, Catalan, Romanian, or even Russian dishes if we share a night together.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love music, especially live performances, and discovering new styles and musicians. Regarding movies, contrary to most, I love dramas, films that evoke strong emotions, those that address social issues, but I also adore thrillers and films with unexpected endings.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have done bungee jumping, I threw myself from 80 meters high, a thrilling experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
We can have conversations and practice Spanish, Catalan, or Romanian, and I can also prepare typical Spanish, Catalan, Romanian, and Russian dishes. I love cooking.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I consider myself a pleasant person with good conversational skills, but also with the ability to listen. I enjoy learning about the stories that each person carries. I am very interested in feminism, psychology, anti-racism, and social movements. If we share these interests or they appeal to you, we can surely talk for hours. I also offer to cook dinner or lunch if we spend an evening together.
