About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To gain farther insight into life, people, and good times!

ABOUT ME

Let's see... Well, I currently attend the University of Minnesota where I am attempting to go for a degree in insomnia (read: architecture). I work at Urban Outfitters at the Mall of America, where I do the typical clothes-selling thing. As for hobbies? Well... Music is definately the biggest - I play several instruments, including Guitar, Bass, Drums, Piano, Clarinet, and Accordian. I have been part of a few bands, and have gigged around Minneapolis. I also have the stangest affinity for Legos... Yeah, those are fun.

I suppose a good thing to add is what I like to do when I travel. I love meeting new people, and will often chill at local coffee shops to meet the locals. I also like to draw skylines (I guess that's where the architecture comes frome...) - usually I travel to major cities, so I have had no problem in the area. Parties are never out of the question, but are not mandatory at any location. In general, I travel to relax, network, and have a good time.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is about experience. Evolution of the mind only comes from experience - each moment is taken in, processed, and stored, and life changes based upon this. Thus, I attempt to live in such a way where I can experience as much as possible - this gives me the sense that I have more to draw on, and build a self out of. I suppose I sound like a page out of Locke, but I feel so regardless. As for where I am in life, and why? Well... I believe creating is the most important role in life, thus I want to be an architect, make music, and create art.

Great... now I sound like Nietzsche...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I definately think this is the coolest idea I have ever seen. Crashing my place isn't out of the question, although I have not had a guest yet, so I am still a little nervous about that. I have also told many people about this site already... and I just registered twenty minutes before writing this!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Well... I went on a trip hosted by the American-Israeli friendship league, and met a bunch of fellow students from all over the country. Because of this trip, I got the chance to crash in San Francisco, which was definately a very interesting time... But that's definately a story for when I meet you!

Interests

Music, Movies, and Books

BOOKS:
Anything philosophy and physics related. However, my favorite books tend to deal with human experience - The Catcher in the Rye, The Great Gatsby, etc.

MUSIC:
Alternative mostly... Modest Mouse is my favorite band, with The Beatles a close second. However, I like most styles, and some of my other favs include Franz Ferdinand, the Killers, Gnarls Barkley, Of Montreal, Atmosphere, Ugly Casanova, Jose Gonzalez, Beck, Violent Femmes, etc.

MOVIES:
I'm definately a film fan. My favorites generally revolve around Richard Linklater, David Lynch, Quentin Tarintino, Robert Rodriguez, Stanley Kubrick, and horror films... Yes, lots of poorly-made horror films...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Played a gig in the middle of one of the busiest streets in Minneapolis. Just the band, the people, and the hottest summer day you could ever imagine...

Teach, Learn, Share

What I can do for you:

Hey, we're all in this together, right? So why charge for my knowledge? You want to learn to play an instrument? I can help, definately. You want to bounce philosophies of each other? Let's go! Do you want to trade experiences, or create new ones? I'm totally down. We can make this happen, but the key word is "we."
