About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Hosting while I can

ABOUT ME

I'm 27, outgoing, caring, friendly, compassionate, and want to experience other cultures.

I had an amazing time travelling through Europe. What an adventure! I was so lucky to have utilized this website and met some of the most wonderful people during my travels from it! I'm back home, but moving by the end of the month to where I will probably be unable to host unfortunately. Until then, let's see if we can meet up!

Here at home, for the past almost 6 years, I've been working for the same non-profit organization and living in the same apartment with people that have become some of my closest friends. I don't drive for several reasons, but I used to have a bike and I use my long-skateboard for a quicker communte to the office.

My friends and family are my life. I'm lucky to have so many wonderful people in my life. Most of the time I'm with my brother or friends: listening to music, walking around town, having a beer, or just relaxing.

The non-profit I work for supports those with HIV. I am HIV negative personally, but like what I do since I truely feel I am helping and making a difference.

I generally pass my time listening to music, laying out in the sun, reading (I'm a big Harry Potter fan), dancing, watching movies, riding my long-skateboard, spending time with friends and family, going on little hikes, swimming and pretending I can sing.

I love fun clothes and try to change my style on a daily basis. I definately strugled with this when I was backpacking, but it worked out for the most part. Hooray!

PHILOSOPHY

I live to learn, laugh and love.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am looking forward to becoming a part of this community. I should be able to host for a few weeks, but don't think it'll be very likely after I move. That doesn't mean I don't want to meet up with great people from around the world though! I am more than open to meeting up for a cup of tea, or grabbing a bite to eat. Maybe even going on a small road trip for the day with a new out-of-town friend. Let me know, there are still possibilites.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I can't say how much I appreciate this site and all it allowed me to do on my trip. I met some of the greatest people on here, and hope that we can keep in touch! I will definately be going back to Europe in the next few years, and if all goes well, I will be reunited with the amazing, generous hosts I stayed with!

Interests

Disney animated movies, Harry Potter, reducing my carbon footprint, Burning Man, learning more French, learning to surf, music, and beer.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I used to go caving: where friends and I would go to the same abandoned mine. It was always very safe, but super-exciting nonetheless!

One of my favorite places is Englebright Lake, about an hour and a half from Sacramento. That's where I spent all my summers growing up and also where I learned to swim, water-ski, and start wakeboarding.

I was able to go to Oahu 2 years ago and that was an amazing trip. I got to snorkle, swim with sea turtles, and go to a great luau.

I bungee jumped on my 13th birthday, which was scary, but worth it.

I love dolphins (hence my screen-name), and was able to swim with them once. They are amazing animals, and it was spectacular being with them!

Teach, Learn, Share

For the past 5 years I've been doing HIV testing and am knowledgeable in other STD's as well. I can faciliate group discussions easily with the time to preare for it. I have a small amount of grant-writing experience as well.
