About Me
Hello!
About me: I like negotiating life's turns. I like butter.
I also like salad greens. And people. And fun. And capybaras. But I don't think I could have one as a pet. How much food do they eat?
I am married. To a man. He is very cool.
I make films. Documentaries! All sorts of subjects like marriage for gays, Indonesian singing zebras, Hakka roundhouses, demolished cathedrals...
Here is one of our film production websites: www.singingdove.com
and another: www.1049films.com
I teach film making at a college in upstate New York. Union College. I love it there.
I am easy going. Almost all of the time! Drop me a line, it would be good to meet.
Thanks for reading. :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Why am I on Couchsurfing?
Couchsurfing is a good way to connect with people and to learn more about their cultures. I like meeting people from around the globe. I like finding out about new cultures. I want to meet as much of humanity as I can.
People are all the same, but we are also all completely different. Both, at the same time. I like that. We are only here for a little dance around the earth. Why not make it interesting before we all die? :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Best film ever: The Color of Pomegranates by Sergei Parajanov
Music - all sorts. Beethoven symphonies, salsa music, jazz, Gregorian chants, folk, music from around the world... not a lot I don't like.
different moods=different music.
Books - ah, so many. Any of the classics. Lots of great poetry, theater works, graphic novels...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I gave drugs to the mayor of New York, Michael Bloomberg.
When we lived in NY city we had a drug problem in our neighborhood. One day I found a bag with needles in front of our house. I happened to be invited to Gracie Mansion (the mayor's house) for a reception the next day.
I brought the bag of drugs and gave it to the mayor along with a letter from our neighborhood association. Bloomberg was very surprised and handed the bag to an aide. He said he would take care of it. A few minutes later the mayor's secret service brought me out to a big black van with electronics inside and asked me what I was thinking! They did not arrest me, however.
The next day a police mobile command center was at the end of our block and stayed there for the next month. At least we had some action from the mayor!
