ABOUT ME

I'm from the United States and love traveling and meeting new people. I was born in China and have lived mostly in the US ever since I was 4 years old (Grand Rapids, Michigan, New York, Philadelphia).

Currently, I live in Kampala, Uganda and work in Mobile Financial Services for the rural poor this year.

PHILOSOPHY

It is the people that you meet that makes your life meaningful. And the more you learn about other people, the more you learn about yourself. Traveling is great, since it makes you become aware of a life outside of your own, and in that way, makes you question and think about the way you live. Life is short, so the most important thing is to experience it to the fullest.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couchsurfed only a few times in Europe and once in Kenya, and had a fantastic experience - a great way to meet locals and really see what a place is like. I would love to try it out more and learn more about different countries!

-Watched the stars from the back of a motorbike in Bali, Indonesia

-Rode a camel through the Sahara Desert in Morocco

-Ran a marathon and half marathon

-Took a cross-country trip across all of China from north to south by bus and train

-Got bitten by a monkey in a Monkey Forest

-Sailed in a hot air balloon in Cappadocia, Turkey

-Took a long bus from Istanbul through Bulgaria to Romania

- Hiked Machu Picchu for 6 days through the Andes Mountains

- Completed a bicycle safari in Hell's Gate and kissed a giraffe in Kenya

- Was the only non-Indian at a Rajesthan wedding in Udaipur, India

- Went gorilla-trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

- Made friends with Maasai tridesman on the beach in Zanzibar, Tanzania
