ABOUT ME
City dweller with a passionate interest in exploring the world, humans and generally life. I have a fairly strong social conscience, but want to spend more time doing something, no matter no small; I like to believe I'm slightly artistic, but apart from several years learning the drums, copying cartoons as a kid and writing on pieces of scrap I lack proof. I can come across as perhaps cynical and negative, someone who gets pissed off too easily over trivial stuff; To others I'm probably too much of an idealist. Explain that one. I Love the energy of an urban environment - the rush of people and character of a bunch of humans crammed into a concrete bowl - but the beauty of nature as well. I'll defend my argument in a debate to the death if I believe it to be right; If it's wrong I hope I don't.
PHILOSOPHY
'We are all guilty of crime, the great crime of not living life to the full. But we are all potentially free. We can stop thinking of what we have failed to do and do whatever lies within our power. What these powers that are in us may be no one has truly dared to imagine. That they are infinite is everything. Imagination is the voice of daring. If there is anything Godlike about God it is that. He dared to imagine everything'
Henry Miller, Sexus
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm beginning to post more messages and especially looking out for those seeking advice from which i can help - anyone who's been helped in anyway by a 'stranger' knows the appreciation they feel towards that person.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Whilst I travelled around Brazil I was lucky enough to have been hosted by 3 great CSers - guys, you are my brothers! Prior to that I was also hosted in Edinburgh, which incidentally was my first experience.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Exploring Costa Rica and Brazil. As someone living in Europe I just don't get to see such green, lush and natural scenery - totally different to anything around here. As for Iguacu and the Amazon, man, it's what the word exotic was invented for.
That being said I love the urban centres of Europe. Pound-for-pound nowhere else has the collection and diversity of this continent's cities, towns and villages.
Teach, Learn, Share
Since most people I meet can converse in at least some English it probably isn't wise to indulge in language exchanges. However, if you want to see the differences between American English and the original version, I'm more than glad to show (and there are plenty).
I like to think I'm a pretty decent cook; food was a big(ish) deal at my place (dad's a chef) so I was lucky to eat well, although I largely learnt through trial and error.
