About Me
Hi guys!
I am a 19 y.o. student who is moving out to the Netherlands! I have currently finished gymnasium and am starting to study in the University of Amsterdam. I am a really sociable person who thinks every night before sleep how it will be hurtful to leave my cat alone and I cannot forgive myself for that. I am quite pessimistic person who still believes in humanity. I search for beauty in everyday things just to fight the pessimism that comes from around me. Contemporary arts, dancing, music, literature are all of my interest. I believe that I have unique morals and view on life, that is why people usually describe me as an eccentric person. I am always in a mood to talk about the depths of human existence, cats, dogs or politics. What is my purpose? To live and to let others live.
Sincerely
Domantas
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Since I am arriving to Amsterdam on August 19th, I still didn't find a room to rent. To be honest, from getting of the plane, I do not know where to go or what to do apart from sitting in cafes and hopping that someone will offer me to rent a room. Have never I expected it to be so complicated!

Music, Movies, and Books
I am a person of indie and alternative music. Such music that lets me fly away with my thoughts, run away from the daily routine.
For the movies, I will always be a fan of festival movies, barely watch anything Hollywood. Lars von Trier, Kim Ki Duk, Xavier Dolan, Park Chan Wook...
For the books, I'm really a fan of modernism literature, especially with existentialism literature. Even though it sounds and may be super pessimistic it still has some kind of hope in humanity and the world.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I do not think that I am any much amazing in any ways but what I really loved doing and where I saw myself as home was volunteering in Vilnius Film fest. It was the people and the atmosphere, and all the problems I ran into, and just all the running I had to do in the cinema felt like home to me.
Teach, Learn, Share
I probably could not teach much apart from Lithuanian or English, I would love to listen. Even though, that perhaps, I could not say much or give a good advice, I would still love to listen to the problems I am shared with, downs and ups, happiness and sadness.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I could and would love to share my weird understanding of the world, how I see the world, my mottos and how I cope with downs. And I am an absolutely animal person so taking care of your pets is a pleasure.
