About Me

Updates: It's been some years since I last logged in here... still married with my wife though, whom I met via couchsurfing :) our son is a fantastic guy, and not so little anymore either... he will be 6 this year :) and me I've become a student again, studying as an IT-specialist. Life stays interesting...!

That's my original introduction text below. For the moment I won't update, should be fine as is. A little glimpse into my past.

***

Hi there, thanks for reading my profile! :)

Well... I suppose you can call me a complex person. I get along easily with most people as I have a humble and friendly personality, try to have/show empathy for everyone but also have a clear opinion about things. Also I try to be polite and diplomatic but never fake. I am open-minded and treat people with the respect and confidence they show towards me.
I was raised quite conservatively, being told to follow the rules, fit in, do some useless job (but never received any inspiration what to do), also my parents were quite complicated. Then I became a cook, wanted to make lots of money to buy me freedom. While working in Germany, Hungary, Ireland, France, Austria and Spain for some years, I found out that freedom and happiness are not things that money can buy and that most people are frustrated in their jobs and what they call society...
Then I started looking for the bigger picture, the reasons that lay beneath and found some answers. I got to know people, who follow their own destiny and now I try to free myself from my own inner boundaries and explore all the wonderful opportunities that life has to offer... I want to benefit from the world and life as much as possible and also give back to the world and the people by helping them and making it a better place.
Despite being a very thoughtful person, I am also very cheerful, optimistic and enthusiastic, always ready for a good party, a nice cooking session, a talk or a joke etc.

I went by bike from Budapest to Barcelona - the most incredible experience in my life so far, I suppose... And it helped me a lot to evolve in my mind.

Hope to meet you soon! :D

PHILOSOPHY

At the age of 33 I am someone, who is just about to find his own way, started searching years ago and is making constant progress. I'm something of a "thinker" if you like, meditating about things, this is what I like to do most, never accepting ready-made ideas, schemes without questioning them in order to constantly improve myself and trying to make the world a better place, trying to find the meaningful values in life but meanwhile also doing and trying new things. I like to be active, always fully dedicated to the things that interest me most at that very moment.

The ideas of sustainability, fair trade, the hippie and squat movements are closest to my way of thinking (plus the thoughts of philosophers Krishnamurti & Erich Fromm)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can participate in using people's couches :) meanwhile be a good guest and additionally I have the possibility now to host as well!
Besides I also spread the word about CS, I have already spoken to several people about it because I think it's such a wonderful idea.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've registered on CS some time ago, made a handful of surfing experiences, all wonderful in their way, making me feel to want more & beyond...

And I met my lovely girlfriend Gamze through CS while traveling to Istanbul :)

Interests

Most of all I'm interested to work out a functioning way for a sustainable society and organize a village community (I've seen/experienced it, it's possible).
I love creative cooking, painting, building things, listening to many sorts of music, enjoying a good red wine or beer (Not drinking much alcohol for a while now as I try to focus on my plans), getting to know good people and inspiring them as well

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

To go out on the sun, in the nature, at the seaside/beach. To see a sparkle in people's eyes when they are happy and console them when they are sad.

To eat when I'm hungry, rest when I'm tired, find love, share love, make friends.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a good listener who loves to cheer up people and give advise. I can teach creative cooking, languages and a thing or two about biking (for me going on a biketour is also very much a spiritual experience, like a pilgrimage - I love to share my thoughts on this with people)
