To have a long holiday in Portugal in May where I can meet lots of new people, get to know the culture and have an unforgettable summer (as cliched as that sounds!).

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm hoping to meet up with locals and fellow travellers whilst I have a three week stay in Portugal this summer.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None as yet, I'm very green to all this. My friends have given couchsurfing a big thumbs up though, so I'm keen to give it a try this summer.

In a nutshell... swing dancing, running, eating out, live music, comedy, exploring new places and meeting new people! I'll try most things once and aim never to say never (within reason...)

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

I'm a bit of a bookworm so this is tough. Favourite authors include Paul Auster, Jonathan Franzen, Somerset Maugham, James Baldwin and Alice Walker (Note to self: I need more female writers on that list). Music wise I have pretty eclectic tastes, anything from jazz to electronica. Films I'm the same; cheesy action films are a bit of a guilty pleasure.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Doing a charity project in Guatemala where I lived in the rainforest for a month. The charity project itself was a disaster (long story) but I got to bathe in a river, watch the most beautiful lightning storms every night and learn how to become a bit of a card shark.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I want to learn Portuguese this summer, so if anyone is happy to teach or practice with me that'd be great. I'm happy to help people with their English.
