About Me

I'm trustworthy, fun, curious and respectful.

I live on a canal boat in the heart of London, and have two whippets. I also have a place in Shropshire which is remote and near lots of good walking.

I’ve travelled extensively, and have been to many countries. I'm fascinated by other cultures, and really enjoy learning more about myself through them. We're all on a journey in life, and there's so much to learn from each other.

I teach acting, so if you want to learn how to cry on cue, I can show you! I direct plays, coach new writers and help people with their communication skills.

Photography is a big passion of mine - although I don't rate myself as technically amazing, I see life through a lens, and can spend hours framing up shots.

Finally, I'm gay, and I have no problem with that. It seems sad that I need to include that information, because it really shouldn't make a difference, but I know some cultures don't accept it. I'm married. And have been with my husband for 12 years. It's important for me to feel safe in your home, and for you to feel comfortable in mine, so if you have negative feeing towards homosexuals...move on!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I always think that the best way to get to know a city or town or area is through a local. I myself know so many cool places to go in London, and enjoy steering visitors away from the normal tourist sites, restaurants, bars, and let them know of the fun and quirky places instead.

By all means, if you want to go to Madame Tussauds, go ahead, but I always want to know what's cool, or new, or a little bit different, so staying with a local is often the best way to do that. Plus, little tips about travel, and getting around are always helpful.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - Eclectic. Father John Misty and Fleet Foxes, to Tropicana Tiki 50's style lounge, to Thai funk, to old Elton John, Patti Smith.

Movies - Art house, classics. Some that come to mind right now - Carrie, Her, Shame, Alien, Leviathan, A Monster Calls, The Wrestler, I Am Love, Drive, Seven Samurai

Books - I love a dark book with poetic writing - currently enjoying Cynon Jones, Benjamin Myers, and recently read Winter's Bone in my book club, which was stunning.
