About Me

I am currently making my living as a server at a local Argentinian restaurant. I live alone in Milwaukee Wisconsin with two cats, and I grew up a few miles north of where I currently stay in the city.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

While I travel I prefer to have the most authentic experience as possible, which usually means staying with friends or family traveling in the USA, and the occasional Airbnb. However that's a little more different since I'm going to be traveling through Europe alone. I'm super excited to explore hostels in new cities and make friends there but I'd love to have a great home experience with someone who knows the area and the culture. I've done my research on places I hope to see in each of the cities I am visiting but I'm very open to a local showing me around, or just giving me suggestions when I go off alone.

Interests

I work at a restaurant, so that leaves most of my free time in the morning. Weather permitting, I like to run or roller blade along the shore of Lake Michigan. In the summer the beach is always packed, but there are some nice quiet trails alone the river from my house that are perfect for an easy hike or just reading.

I used to be a barista, and coffee has always been a huge part of my life. I either make my own every morning or try to rotate what coffee house I visit, which also helps me explore different parts of town that I might not usually visit.

I have a fairly large apartment with two cats who love hanging out on my patio and watching the street down below. This summer I want to start couch surfing or Airbnbing my extra bed room, and I've spent a decent amount of time making art and refinishing furniture for myself and the extra bedroom.

I love to cook, although most of my nights are spent at work, so on my days off I try to make something new at least a few times a month. Risotto is my favorite dish to experiment with since I've made it the most times and this winter I got really into making squash based soups.

Music, Movies, and Books

I think I fall under the Science Fiction/Fantasy genre. Star Wars is my favorite movie, and I can prove that because I have a Star Wars tattoo.....I loved the Mandalorian and can't wait for the next season. I've read and watched all the Game of Thrones series, and I enjoy West World and Magicians too. I love a good lighthearted show too, some of my favorites are Parks and Rec., Gilmore Girls, and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I beat cancer when I was nine years old. I don't really consider it an 'accomplishment' however I do think it had a positive effect on my attitude toward life. I just ran my first 5K last fall with my best friend, and I spent a day biking to the next biggest city toward Milwaukee, about a two hour drive.

I'm extremely thankful for all the traveling experiences I've had. I backpacked the west coast of the USA, all the way from Vancouver to San Diego.
