About Me

Laid back, interested in life, culture, people, history, ideas. I like to laugh and make people laugh.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've mainly travelled using hostels before, where you can see the sights and meet other people doing the same thing as yourself but I want more than this. I want to meet awesome people I would never usually meet and see their view of the world. This is why I'm on Couchsurfing.

Interests

I'm interested in pretty much anything and everything. Discovering cultures, talking to people, music, sports, economics etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

https://soundcloud.com/dom0104 << This probably represents my current music interests best, but is nowhere near to being all of it. I love the UK's music scene unconditionally.

Movies: I've been working my way through the imdb top 250 for a long while and have a massive appreciation for this artform. Brooding films are always good. FIlms that've made me go 'wow!' in the last few years: The Great Beauty, Blue is the Warmest Colour and Le Samourai.

Books: I recently bought a Kindle to try and get back into reading novels, as its been too far and inbetween whilst in education and there is so much literature I haven't read that I want to. I'm currently reading The Private Lives of the Impressionists by Sue Roe which is great. Within the last month I've also read Neither Wolf nor Dog (Kent Nerburn), 1984 (Orwell) and The Trial (Kafka) and enjoyed all three immensely, albeit for different reasons.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watch someone eat the majority of a 1kg jar of olives within the length of a movie (after a dare) without too many negative side effects.
