About Me
CURRENT MISSION
The Plan: Been on the road for a year in Asia, and I intend to keep on travelling anywhere I can for as long as I can until I have no money left, and build up a huge wealth of life experiences, memories, photos and friends to love when I return home!
ABOUT ME
Pretty much your average mid-twenties guy. Love travelling the most, meeting new and interesting people and really throwing myself into experiences outside my comfort zone. Nature and walking are my big loves, but anywhere new and exciting is fantastic, the weirder the better! Otherwise, I do all the usual stuff, enjoy social drinks with friends, reading, writing, getting into the outdoor activities like hiking and climbing and more extreme stuff like jumping out of planes.
I guess I'm pretty Australian, laid back and easygoing!
PHILOSOPHY
Live for the moment, don't think too much about the future, but don't be so silly or reckless as to threaten a good future unnecessarily. I believe that everyone is pretty amazing, there's no reason to dislike anyone, and I think there's beauty in the fact that we are random bits of matter whirling through an infinite space who have somehow managed to seize life despite it being the most unlikely thing to ever happen.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
How I participate? I have no idea what this means, so... I'll skip this for now. I'll be back for you later though, participation, so don't get too lonely here, you understand?
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've met up with backpackers coming to my home city for a drink and a good old chat, made some friends, the usual. Previous trips have seen locals showing me around their cities, and I love hearing about culture and history from those who are immersed in it day to day, rather than from a travel book!
Interests
Reading, science and animals and learning new things is always interesting, a bit of a fan of Asian culture in a broad sense, love hiking and climbing and nature. Architecture and urban/interior design and the economy of space and environmental design is something I love, particularly small/tiny house living. Bit geeky, love me some superhero movies and sci-fi and all that jazz, movies in general I always enjoy.
Most of all, my biggest interest is people. Other people around me and how they react to situations individually, because society is pretty much the most fascinating thing we've ever created.

Music, Movies, and Books
My musical tastes are too varied to list. Almost anything can be great music, no matter the genre, if the person making it is brilliant and inspired. Movies I can enjoy no matter the genre as well, I take things as they come. For books I like urban fantasy and horror, sci-fi is also pretty cool as long as it doesn't take itself too seriously.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One amazing thing? Wow, hard one. Skydiving over my home city was pretty great, going to Comiket in Tokyo was awesome, week-long bushwalks through remote wilderness is always good. But the best thing ever was lying in a little swag in the middle of the Northern Territory, staring up at the millions and millions of stars, hundreds of kilometres from anywhere, and feeling the awe of insignificance. The whole universe churns on regardless of me, you, this entire planet. We basically have no reason to exist, by probability alone we shouldn't exist, and to me that's beautiful because this fleeting life is ours to make what we want of it.
