ABOUT ME

Dom.

A Singaporean student who is having the time of his life in this mesmerising city of Liverpool. I've spent most of my life living in Singapore and traveling in and around most of Asia. I came here to study but now, I've come to realise I may end up living in this part of the world.

I can't imagine a life without music and Liverpool is the perfect place for me cos I enjoy a good gig or two, maybe three and the gigs here are never-ending.

I love a good laugh and I am constantly adding new things to my bucket list, I never want to end up with everything ticked and having nothing to look forward to.I am also very interested in sustainable living and I try my best to fix my carbon-footprint the best I can - either by not using plastic bags, not eating meat and trying my best to recycle. I don't do it perfectly, but it's been really fun to actually do something.

PHILOSOPHY

Mastering others is strength and I would rather not be strong in that aspect. My journey in life is to master myself from everyday interactions by learning, seeing, doing, hearing and eating new things.

I also believe a day spent not laughing is a day lost and I've lost some days not laughing and I find that such a waste.

For the moment, I will gladly host people by showing them around Liverpool and you are more than welcome to join my friends and I for whatever activities are happening in this city.

Interessen

I enjoy baking quite a bit - I find it very therapeutic and I also want to eradicate the notion that I can't have my cake and eat it too.

Organic and sustainable living. I spend a lot of time on the Mother Earth news website and Earthship homes.

I'm also a huge wrestling fan. I've been watching wrestling since I was 5 and I honestly think if I went back in time, I would sit down with 5 year old me and watch wrestling.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

Movies - Ranges from The Karate Kid, Clockwork Orange, Star Wars, Lord of The Rings, anything to do with Zombies, Home Alone, Christopher Nolan films, Tarantino films, Scorsese films. I don't enjoy Michael Bay movies because I honestly think he has butchered everything the little kid in me loved - Transformers.

Music - I enjoy listening to heavy metal, old school rock music, punk rock, liquid dubstep, . I would list the bands I listen to but I don't think a thesis is something a couchsurfing profile should have.

Books - I will read anything and everything. Currently, I jump from Wikipedia articles just because it's free and pretty fun.

I cannot imagine a day going by when I'm not listening to music.As much as I like Spotify, there's nothing like a live gig and it's awesome when I discover a band I've never heard before and just become a fan of theirs because they're good live.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

I spent a day on a boat in the Indian state of Kerala's backwaters and that was one of the most amazing things to see people who live their lives so close to water.

Also, in the UK I attended my first live wrestling show and that just blew my mind. I literally lived in a dreamworld for the duration of that event.
