About Me

Hey everybody,

My name is Dominik and I'm a 22 year old student of political science. Currently, I'm in between my undergraduate and my graduate studies doing the "famous" gap year. After I graduated from school in 2013 I spent a year in Costa Rica and during the summer breaks in the last years I did several internships in Morocco and Guatemala. I really love to travel and it is pretty hard for me to stay in one place for longer. Having the opportunity to live in another amazing country always gives me the chance to experience and live more! This is why I decided to experience the American way of life for the first time and come to the US.

I was a very active student. While studying I was still working at the university. I was part of the Dean's office of the the faculty and I am responsible for student consulting and the coordination of different exchange programs. Also, I am participating in the representation of the students of my faculty and also in one of our political parties in our university policy. I enjoy to have responsability and to get in touch with people which, in my mind, is the only way to learn new things and increase our knowledge. And is there a better way to open your mind than by talking to people?

Generally, I would describe myself a friendly, trustworthy and open-minded person. I am the last person to judge someone in advance and I always like to challenge myself in any way. Besides that, I am a very good roommate since I've been living in a shared flat since I was 15 y.o. It is normal to me to clean up after myself and always be respectful with the wishes of others.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Since I am travelling a lot, I love to explore the places with the insight of locals. As I already told you, I like the idea of getting to know new people and experience their way of living for a bit. This might be the best way to get to know an other culture!

During my last stays abroad, I usually knew people where I could stay or met people on my way. This time I want to get in touch with the official couchsurfing society since I heard a lot of good stories from friends concerning their stays.

I am very excited about having the chance to get the chance to meet new people.
