About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My permanent mission is being open-minded and having a good time with everyone I meet!

ABOUT ME

I like to think about myself as unselfish, reliable, funny, outgoing in partys and a thoughtful listener in conversations; as someone who easily gets in contact with people and with a decent sense of humour. My biggest reward when meeting people is leaving them with a smile on their face. Obviously I do not always succeed in being or doing all of the things above, but I promise I´ll never stop trying...

PHILOSOPHY

Enjoy fully every good moment in life and learn from the bad ones. Keep an open mind for new experiences, be in peace with everyone and learn from different opinions rather than criticize them without giving a thought. That is, if these views are not harming other people (e.g. racism, which I will always stand up against).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well, I´m just getting started here so I´m still figuring things out.

Interests

I do anti-racist work and intercultural sensibilisation with young people who go on 3-month social projects abroad. This is my job and I love it, so it´s also my biggest hobby. I´m also interested in all sorts of cultural activity, because I think culture brings people together and is one of the things that makes life worth living. Also I´m a DJ (Alternative Rock, Balkan Beats, Latino, Hip Hop, Reggae, Electro Swing), I love learning and translating languagues (until now I speak 6), going out and (you guessed it...) travelling. Oh, and I´m a complete sports nerd, but when I´m travelling, you probably won´t notice unless you´re one, too...

Music, Movies, and Books

Very big variety. Some examples might be for Music: Balkan Beats (Leningrad!), Latino (Los de Abajo), Bossa Nova, Alternative/Rock (from Radiohead to Turbonegro), and any other alternative and progressive approach to music. Movies that impressed me include Fight Club, Memento and Les Valseuses; My favourite book is Grande Sertao:Veredas by the brazilian writer Joao Guimaraes Rosa.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Riding bike on 4000 meter altitude near Cotopaxi, Ecuador; Views from the top of Lisbon and Rio de Janeiro; Having my glasses falling down in a moshpit in a punk rock concert and getting it back without a scratch because all people stepped back instantly; and many other things that happened to me in this crazy and adorable world.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can tell something about using fair language and images in the media (Code of Conduct on images and messages), translation, solidary economy and global learning.

Countries I’ve Visited
