ABOUT ME

30-year-old guy from Poland with a passion for mountains and exploration. I'm a member of GOPR (Volunteer Mountain Rescue Service) and the Polish National Alpine Team. I've traveled extensively (over 40 countries) and lived in Norway, Slovenia, and the USA.

After taking a detour from academia, I'm now back pursuing a PhD in Earth Sciences at the university in Katowice, while simultaneously working in the Energy industry. This summer, I'm heading to Svalbard for fieldwork after receiving a grant from the Research Council of Norway.

I balance my academic and professional life with my love for mountains, climbing, and more recently, cycling and swimming.

I'm fully vaccinated.

PHILOSOPHY

To live a life of adventure and purpose. I've grown to appreciate calculated risks and have a deeper awareness of how my choices impact my future. I want to build something meaningful that will last for generations to come. I don't drink alcohol or smoke.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can host you if you come to Katowice. My apartment isn't huge, but there's always space for a traveler. I'm more than happy to share experiences, go for a hike, train together, or have a language exchange.
I live together with my girlfriend - Sofia.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've couchsurfed in Norway, Santiago de Chile, Prague, Kyrgyzstan, Israel, Iran, Jordan, Mexico, Guatemala, and the USA. Every experience has been fantastic!

Mountains remain at the heart of my passions. The silence and wild nature I find there are irreplaceable. Hiking, ski touring, and climbing are essential parts of my life. Recently, I've added cycling and swimming to my activities. I also love traveling, exploring new places, meeting new people, and enjoying good books, movies, and music.

I enjoy fantasy books like "The Song of Ice and Fire" by George R.R. Martin and "Wiedzmin" by Sapkowski, among others. I'm open to all kinds of music and films, as long as they're good quality!

Among many adventures, climbing Nevado Sajama (6542m) - the highest peak in Bolivia - during my South American journey remains one of my proudest accomplishments.
