About Me

Just recently rediscovered Couchsurfing when I joined my twin brother on a Trip to Hawaii where spent time with amazing hosts. So hopefully this wouldnt be the last such experience.

During college times my life has been all about amateur theatre and youth participation. I built up participation bodies in my hometown and across Switzerland and got privileged to have a pan-european mandate with the Council of Europe in the field.

Later, my lift turned to the sustainable mobility field. Rail travel, sustainable fuels, hyperloop - you name it. Also i started becoming active in the political field in Switzerland. Member of the green liberal party in Switzerland.

Im looking to meet cool and positive people and discover some of the corners of this world and hope to be able to leave some impressions, insights or travel tips with you when staying around.

Looking forward to meet :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've had my couchsurfing account for a while, but it's been only recently that I got to go on my first real couchsurfing experience while traveling with my brother. Getting to know our hosts and spending time with them opened a whole new travel experience. As I usually travel solo, this is a great way to immerse myself into a new place. It goes far beyond just sightseeing. I enjoy feeling the vibes of a new place and it's so much easier to have a nest and local people to be part of that experience.

Interests

Of my interests Theater and politics really stand out.
At my university in Rotterdam, there was no international theater group. But well, we just took the opportunity and created our own. Together with a bunch of amazing people and no single Euro in our pocket we staged 'An ideal Husband' by Oscar Wilde after just 3 months. In the following 2 years we turned our little hobby into a truly recognized theater organization with 2 original productions and a play adaption of 'The Picture of Dorian Gray'. We spent hundreds of hours on these productions and it has been one of the best times in my life! Im happy to know that our little theatre association even survived the COVID times.
While I probably have not spent as much time on politics, i am still very engaged with the matter of youth participation. This is why - in 2013 - we started an initiative to create a youth parliament in my home canton (province). While this is not reality yet, we are on track to give young people more means to speak up and create their environments :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Oddly I have won awards for a short film that I created, but I am really bad myself with books or movies. I'm more drawn to practical, hands on things.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Decided to live abraod. During High School I went to the United States, for my bachelor degree to the Netherlands and during my bachelor to Paris for one semester. It's really not about one single event during these times, but about the experience as a whole. I have met a so many truly incredible and inspiring people that have made me grow again and again and taught me lessons for life that I am grateful for.

Teach, Learn, Share

Im happy to teach you some of the infamous 'Swiss German' langauge. Besides that there's a lot of funny and sometimes useful facts about the world that I have picked up wherever I've been :)
