About Me

Hello, I'm a student from Montreal. I was born in Canada and travelled a lot around Europe, the American continent and India in the past years. My next adventure is planned for summer 2017, I'll be travelling in Brazil. I like to meet people, share my experiences with them and I'm curious about different cultures, languages, history and politics. I'm respectful, fun and I can help in many ways (home tasks, cooking, teaching, writing...)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to meet people who live in the cities I'll be visiting to have an authentic travelling experience. I want to learn a few words and expressions, culinary traditions and mostly, make new friends who would be welcome in my hometown!

Interests

I have a formation in theatre, photography and journalism, but left that on the side right now to complete a degree in politics, history and language at the University of Montreal. I wrote plays, poems and short stories that I would like to publish someday.
I played saxophone for two years and I love music from all around the world.
I dance all the time and sing (even though I can't say I have a talent for signing unfortunately)
Of course, I love to travel and to meet people.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have been listening to a lot of bossa nova lately to practice Portuguese and my flirting skills for Brazil, but I listen to almost everything from 70's rock classics to electronic or jazz. Would love to discover what you want to show me!
I'm now reading Milan Kundera's books and american beat generation poets, but my favourite author is probably Boris Vian.
I want to discover italian cinema and I know my american classics, especially movies about the Vietnam war and american criminals.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been in India for a few weeks to work as a photographer for a foundation when I was 17 years old

Travelling solo in East Europe

Hiking erupting volcanos in Italy!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can help you to learn English and French! I'm not the greatest cook in the place, but I love food, so I would be pleased to help in the kitchen. I can take great pictures, portraits and landscapes. I can do written work and translation. I have a ton of anecdotes and stories to share. If you are interested in Quebec/Canada's history, or Haiti's (my origins!) I can give you a good overview.

Of course, it would be my pleasure to host you if you ever come to North America!
