About Me

27 year old German girl who just finished her Undergrad degree in the Netherlands and is now backpacking Canada! I love to meet new people, see new places, explore new cities. Easy going, adventurous yet lazy (I like a spontaneous weekend trip just as much as lazy night on the couch - balance might be the right word to describe it), clumsy, curious, open-minded. People tend to find my laugh funnier than the joke.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I joined CS to get the local experience while traveling. Nothing beats getting to know a new place through the eyes of a local. I'm easy-going and I hope to meet new people with whom I can explore a city rather than on my own.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music taste ranges from The Cure over Nirvana to Limp Bizkit. 80's music. Fleetwood Mac. Coldplay. A bit of everything.

I like post-apocalyptic books like Steven King's The Stand, and I'm slowly but surely making my way through the classics (especially enjoyed Orwell). East of Eden by John Steinbeck, Never Let Me Go by Kazou Ishiguro, and Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett are some of my other favorites. I'm also really starting to enjoy non-fiction, and I can recomment The Lost City of The Monkey God to anyone who likes a good, real adventure story.

I like a lot of movies. Comedy, drama, thriller, one's that make you think (how good is Mr. Nobody?). Lord of the Rings and other epic tales, and every single episode of FRIENDS.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

At 19 I backpacked Australia & South-East Asia for a year. Lived and worked in Melbourne. Snorkeled with Sharks. Skydived. Actually thought picking peas was a great idea for a job for 2 weeks (Spoiler: It wasn't. I was paid by kilo and ended up eating most of them).

Teach, Learn, Share

What I hope to get out of the CS experience is meeting interesting new people, learn about their lives and values, what makes them tick, how they got to where they are now. Sharing stories and experiences.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'd like to believe I am a very easy going guest. I don't need much to be content, and I sleep just as good on a couch as in a bed.
