Overview
About Me
I am a student in classical composition at the doctorate level at McGill University, Montréal, Canada. I grew up in a small town in the countryside, so I enjoy nature a lot, but my need for music and art has inevitably brought me to the city.
I am a quiet, timid person, a bit absent-minded but respectful, responsible and clean, and I enjoy all sorts of company, any age or gender - or pets, for hosts!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am presently doing a student exchange in Oslo, Norway, for the 2015-2016 year, and I want to take the opportunity to visit Norway, and the rest of Europe! If I stay by myself the whole year, I might not even speak a word of Norwegian when I leave, and that would be quite sad...
Interests
As you might have guessed by reading the above, my main interest is music - mainly classical, but I do enjoy all sorts of different styles and genres. I also love art in general, and even if my knowledge is a bit small, I have a big curiosity and open-mindedness!
I also love nature, and because of a habit my grandmother had of bringing her grandchildren on the road and identifying the flowers we saw, I also have a fascination for any kind of plants, which is why I feel lucky that Montreal has one of the biggest botanical gardens in the world!
I also am a child at heart, as I love doing papercraft, and retain some of my taste for fantasy and videogames that I had in high school when I kind of a geek. :P One could say I'm still one, but a music geek instead...

Music, Movies, and Books
For music: "classical" music mainly, and if you ask for composer names: Bartók, Ravel, Shostakovich and Prokofiev count among my favorites. But as I said before, I'm open-minded and can listen to a lot of different genres and find an interest. :)
For movies, I like either repertory cinema, or children movies. I like other stuff, but I become very picky...
For books, sadly I don't read as much as I used to; university readings suck up all my "reading motivation" if you will... but if I have to state preferences, I'd say novels, philosophy and botanic are my favorites.
Teach, Learn, Share
If you're interested in music at all, I can share a bit about playing the piano (I studied it seriously at school for 10 years but now play mostly for fun and by ear, I'm no concert pianist - I hate all the unhealthy competition) or some harmony principles, or even compare compositions if you also do (and if you are open-minded)!
Also, I might not be the best cook, but I love to prepare food, and I know a couple of typical québécois recipes if you're interested!
I'm happy to learn about anything, really, be it sports, science, art, cooking, history - even politics or economics, which are really not my favorite subjects, but if you have the patience to compensate for my ignorance, I'll gladly listen and try to talk!
