ABOUT ME

I work for a large, international humanitarian charity (yes, that one), managing fundraising campaigns. I love my job (most of the time).

I also play a few instruments (bass, guitar, drums, a bit of keyboards) in various bands. I spent most of my 20s playing in bands and DJ'ing at indie clubs. These days, I am happy doing a bit less of that and a bit more of the day job, but the music thing is still pretty key to who I am.

Music (see below), films (see also below), books (ditto), being a beer geek (love hoppy American ales/IPA etc), art deco, cooking, being a bit left wing etc.

I am quite an easy going fellow.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am off to the East Coast of America for the 2nd week of June 2011 (on my way back from Trinidad), and looking for places to crash in NYC and Boston. I can certainly contribute by jamming or even subbing on bass if you need someone for a show (I am a pretty quick learner).

Currently, I can't offer any space but I fully intend to in the future!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: The Cure, Dinosaur Jr, The Clash, Wu-Tang Clan, Lemonheads, Pixies, reggae/dub, Springsteen, punk, soul (mainly Motown, need to brush up on my Stax), MF Doom, Bowie, Velvet Underground, Gram Parsons, Regina Spektor, Bikini Kill, Los Lobos, son, etc etc

Movies: favourite film makers would be Tim Burton, Jim Jarmusch, The Coens, Robert Rodriguez, Tarantino. Also tend to love most things involving Johnny Depp, Marlon Brando and Mickey Rourke.

Books: Truman Capote, Iain Banks, Neil Gaiman, Hunter S. Thompson, High Fidelity.
