ABOUT ME

Caroline and I are high school teachers in Quebec. We took the decision to travel before getting into more serious things like a house, a dog and you know, maybe kids...few years later, we are still teachers, but also farming part time, we raise pigs on pasture over the summer and we have three kids now. If you send a request and don't get any answer, it's not because we don't like your picture, we just often forget to come and visit our couchsurfing account.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Sorry, we have a new member in the family, we're gonna take some time with our baby and we'll be hosting again in a few months.

We found out about couch surfing when we were "planning" our trip to central america. We really liked it, and now that we are back in Quebec, we try to host people in our little place.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We couchsurfed in Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua,Costa-Rica and Panama and we are now waiting for people to come and visit the Gaspé peninsula.

Interests

Cooking, we love it ! Music, we both play music and enjoy discovering new sounds. We like just about any kind of outdoor activities and of course we like travelling.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Life is amazing. In december 2010, we were visiting Nicaragua when we met Claudia Lovo who brought us in a remote community. The family we visited were giving classes to the kids in the area. The "school" was just a thatched roof. We started asking how we could help them and got into details like how much would cost a little concrete school. They said around 2000$. After hearing that, we decided to start raising funds for them. With the help of our students and the generosity of the community where we live in Canada, we've raised close to 5000$ and were able to go back in july 2011 to build the school. It was an incredible experience. We are now looking for volunteers to go there and help giving english,music,agriculture classes or whatever else you might know and feel confortable teaching and sharing with them. Interested ? We sure have recipes to share. We speak french and english, so we can always help you with that. And if you are interested in music, we´ll be happy to either play with you or teach you.
