I'm a software engineer, musician, and photographer who recently quit his job at Twitter in San Francisco and is traveling around the world. I like folk music, old cameras, and new experiences.

Photography, art, music, history (especially Roman history!), politics, learning new things, meeting new people.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite band is The Mountain Goats, but I love a ton of music, from rap, to indie rock, to country.

As far as movies go, my favorite film is City of God (an absolutely incredible Brazilian movie about a photographer growing up in one of the city's slums). I also really like Upstream Color, Memento, Boyhood.

Lately, I've been reading Pattern Recognition by William Gibson and I absolutely love it. My favorite books I've ever read include 100 Years of Solitude, House of the Spirits, The Wind Up Bird Chronicles, and Cat's Cradle.

I also really like reading about history, favorite book there would have to be The Guns of August.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

After quitting Twitter, I traveled coast to coast on my Vespa scooter, a distance of about 4,200 miles.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd love to teach people anything related to computers or technology (was a professional software engineer for around 5 or 6 years before starting this trip). Can also teach guitar, harmonica, audio recording, and photography.
