About Me

Visit my evolving website: www.3dreamquestions.com to get a flavor for what I’m about. Here’s me rambling about the Dreamcatcher Project: https://youtu.be/dit6_KkUYfE

Here’s a short interview https://youtu.be/cphn2lBLT1I. Recently, someone turned the camera onto me and had me respond to the questions lm asking. Please visit the introduction link on the website www.3dreamquestions.com to see that and other short interviews.

I'm traveling the United States and possibly Europe and South East Asia during the upcoming years , 2019-????, interviewing and recording hopes, fears and perspectives of the exceptional every-day person on the street. At the time of this update I have been on the road over 3 months and am on my way back from an eastern leg into New England and points in between.

I'm thinking there will be other places to put vital stats.
I like people. I want to discover America. The past few years have given me the feeling of being an alien in my country of birth.

I'm an ethnic Mormon but I "practice" a variety of philosophies. I find myself most drawn to the teachings of Thich Nhat Hahn and I attend Sangha weekly. I'm hoping to find a variety of religious, humanist and mystic practitioners as well as agnostics, atheists and everyone in between with couches and conversation in their spaces.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am traveling with my little PriusC and can't haul a lot of camping equipment and being by myself lends itself to the purpose of my journey, meeting, interviewing and documenting a wide variety of perspectives. I will enjoy and cherish my nights sleeping under the stars, the sky and earth enveloping me, meditating and worshipping the humanless world, but my goal is to interact with as many people as possible and I can't think of a better place than inside their own dwellings.
I want to visit border-wall spaces, nice neighborhoods, poverty places, employed and unemployed, as many ethnicities as possible. As stated above, the USA feels a bit like an alien country.

Interests

  • people and their dreams.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books:
Love Spy Fiction, Historical Fiction, Historical, Religious and other Philosophy, Self-Improvement, etc.

Movies:
Gandhi, Life is Beautiful. Thoughtful as well as entertaining movies. I like documentaries.

Media: I listen to NPR, BBC. I follow CNN, Washington Post, Fox News, NYT and local news, wherever I am.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I delivered my daughter on the sidewalk in front of the hospital. Everyone came out okay.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a retired teacher, this year. I was featured in the NYT back in 2003, I believe it was. I'd enjoy sharing war stories and insights with other educators. I've traveled extensively in Europe and have a perspective a bit out of the Utah mainstream.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'd love to cook up an Italian meal for my hosts. I've had a couple of restaurants and did some cooking. that was a few decades ago. My meals are pretty old school and I don't follow recipes per se.
I want to interview and give my hosts and anyone they think has a perspective that should be shared, a voice, their voice, perhaps in a website and a YouTube channel if they/you are comfortable with that.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Japan, Libya, Mexico, Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland

Countries I’ve Lived In
