About Me

Current mission?
I'm totally new here, so... convincing you to host me ;) I wanted to try Couchsurfing as a way to meet locals after being tired of hostel life.

Current direction?
I just quit my job! Planning to travel around and meet friends in Korea and Japan for Nov and Dec to recharge and make plans for 2019. I'll probably be working in San Francisco or Portugal for 2019!

My biggest loves are rock climbing and scuba diving. Given a chance, I would climb on to your couch and dive into the cushions.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Hey stranger! I want to meet you!

In my travels, I passed by plenty of people, each living his/her life without ever knowing that we were in each other's life for a split second. Couchsurfing is a way I can turn a face in the crowd into a friend.

Tell me your hopes, dreams and aspirations. Show me how you live your life. Share with me the culture and customs of your people. Crack a few of your favourite jokes, I'll tell you mine too :)

Interests

I love the outdoors - there’s something about the smell of fresh cow poop, stinging insects and poisonous plants that gets me going. I'm an experienced climber, well-trained divemaster, beginner snowboarder, newbie surfer and I'm hoping to add paragliding to the list in the next few years :)

Software engineer here! Yea, I’m one of the rare ones who go outdoors. I have a okay knowledge of the first 151 pokemons and maybe some other nerdier stuff like bubble-sort. I’m into the startup and tech scene for its free pizza, free beer and 10-to-1 male-to-female ratio. Talk nerdy to me.

Music, Movies, and Books

Forrest Gump, Shawshank Redemption, Heat, 12 Angry Men, Goodfellas, Her, Casino Royale, Ides of March, Mad Max: Fury Road and a lot more that I can't remember. There was a summer break where I binge-watched most of the movies on the Rotten Tomatoes Top 100 list.

And rom-coms. Everyone loves a happy ending.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

• Getting my teeth cleaned 24 meters under the sea by cleaner shrimps. Who needs dentists?
• Living in Bali for a month to earn my Divemaster certification. I learnt to fear saké-bombs.
• Seeing the Milky Way for the first time in Malaysia. Yes, it was very milky.
• Driving out to the middle of nowhere in California to see Geminids meteor shower. It was epic.
• And perhaps... surfing on your couch ;)

Teach, Learn, Share

• I can cook an awesome Gordon-Ramsey-approved scrambled eggs. He taught me... on YouTube.
• I can introduce you to rock climbing if there’s a gym nearby!
• And you can teach me to swear in your language :P

What I Can Share with Hosts

I will write a personal message for each of my hosts :)

Your home, your rules - I will respect your house rules.

We can hang out and have a drink, or climb trees and go on adventures. I'm down for anything :)
