To get a big news story and complete my formal journalist training

ABOUT ME

I'm very sporty - both playing and watching. I play tennis, golf, snooker and go running. I used to play rugby and have played some football.
I am a journalist for a local newspaper in Northumberland in the North of England with a circulation of around 9000 homes. Ideally i want to specialise as a sports journalist and travel the world! Hopefully by the time the Olympic Games come to London in 2012 and the Commonwealth Games in 2014 to Glasgow I will be able to cover them as a journalist.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have only couch surfed once - when i was in London in early 2007. I was meeting up with my friend Jess who was couch surfing in London at the time. I had such a great time and met some really interesting and fun people and since then I have tried to spread the word about couch surfing and look forward to doing it again when I get round to doing dome more travelling.
I have also met up with a couch surfer in Edinburgh and showed her round the city and gone out for meal.

Lord of the Rings - films and book, autobiographies and books by journalists. Music wise my taste is extremely varied - from Scottish folk to 80's rock and current indie.

Played snooker with world champion Stephen Hendry. Stood in one of the most hauntingly beautiful places in the world in Australia.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

Sport - played all sorts - tennis for over 15 years and rugby for about 10. Not sure what else but sure there would be something i could teach! Would love to learn to play the guitar so I could put music to the song lyrics I write.
