ABOUT ME
Hallo,
I am Jan and 25 years old from good ol' Germany. I just started my first real job after uni. I am an open minded, outgoing, down-to-earth kind of boy with a dry sense of humor.
However, during my study abroad semester in Auckland,NZ I got to know many people from all over the world and I made also made some good friends. I really enjoy the diversity and the exchange with different cultures.
I just like to keep it going, be a good host and get to know you too wherever you come from so that we have a fun time together.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
* I am living in the student quarter of Cologne with another flat mate.
* I like to be your host and you can crush my couch - be my guest.
* I can be your guide and show you around. There is a lot of stuff going on throughout the year, so it wont get boring, i.e. there is Karneval (sort of Mardi Gras, its hard to explain) in Cologne. We have carnival and music festivals and a lot more. I know Cologne is not one of the favorite stops for people you come to Germany or Europe in general but it's a fun town and worth a stop.
*We can go out, meet up for a drink/coffee, have a BBQ or I can just give you a lift if you kids need one - be my guest :)
*If you need further information about what you could do or whats worth a stop in Germany/Europe just ask. I am happy if I can help you.
* I also would like to couchsurf and meet new people when I go travelling again. I don't necessarily need to stay at yours. I enjoy to get to know locals and get away from the touristy spots. I'll appreciate any offer from you.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I just signed up on couchsurf.org so I don't have any experience with this site in particular but I've already crushed couches of people I got to know in NZ and I've already hosted some of them here in Germany, so I know both sides.
From my point of view, couchsurfing gives any journey some sort of personal touch which makes it an unique and authentic experience. People welcome you to their house and show you around, take you away from tourist streams and, you have a great time together.
I enjoy couchsurfing way more than staying at hostels because it's more personal and of course it's cheaper.
Interests
I am down for anything pretty much, no need to write an endless list.
When I think about it, I like all sort of outdoors i.e. I just got into rock climbing but I am still a beginner. I also enjoy going to concerts or just going out.
...but still, I am open for anything as long as it's fun.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I think I had the best time of my young life in NZ - it was pretty intense. I'll try to make the most out of every day and live my life to the fullest so... I am excited for the future.
Teach, Learn, Share
* I can teach what is it about to be a proper, practical and value- driven German. I'll introduce you our values, culture and of course Ill feed your our rocky bread and teach you how to survive on sausages and beer because that's how we roll. Therefore I'll also teach how to open a beer bottle with any item.
Seriously, I can't think of any exiting skills from the top of my head.
* I am hungry to get to know new things. You, surprise me! By the way, I like to cook, eat and drink so you can't go wrong by teaching me a local dish.
