Overview
About Me
Feb/March 2016 - Currently in Central America
We began cycling from the USA and headed straight south. We spent 10 glorious weeks in Mexico and now head into Central America. We usually use warmshowers but couch surfing is slightly more popular in places so look out for a request for the two of us with our bicycles if we're headed your way!
CURRENT MISSION
To travel, learn and grow...
ABOUT ME
I've been travelling the world since May 2010 so as it stands I've been to a lot of amazing places and met some wonderful people from all different backgrounds and cultures.
For the first year I spent it mainly in Africa and Asia volunteering in schools and orphanages where I could offer help or support. My second year was a mix of Australia and Asia. I got back (July 2012) from my second tour of India and Africa which I over landed with public transport or hitchhiking.
My husband completed a trip from Singapore to London on his motorbike and after staying in London for the Olympics in July 2012 we rode across Europe on the bike for nearly 3 months before returning back to Perth.
May/June 2015 - We have successfully completed an expedition to cross Mongolia on horseback. We caught the train from London, across Europe, via Russia (a few days in Moscow) and then down through Russia to the Mongolian border where we bought four horses and rode unsupported for five months together. You can read up on our adventure at www.blueskywalkabout.com
Following Mongolia was China, South Korea and then Fiji.
December 2015 we began our cycling trip.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe in living each and every day to it's fullest and with a great big smile on your face.
I've found that I'm one of those people that is fortunate enough to lead an extremely positive life, I do good to others and in turn good things come to me.
I love to meet new people and maintain relationships with like minded travellers passing on help to others in their future endeavours as they no doubt would have helped me in mine.
I love CS and everything that it is about.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on couch surfing and have been for the nearly five years, because it simply inspires me daily just how incredibly hospitable us humans can be. We each have a thirst for knowledge from each other and by meeting each of you I become a more rounded person with each and every experience.
The late night talks, the beautiful dinners shared, the countless glasses of vino and most of all the time that individuals have given up to be a part of my life for the time that I am surfing is simply priceless.
I.
LOVE.
IT!
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
My husband and I have hosted previously at our house in KL, Malaysia. The references are all on his CS page.

I must admit, I use couches a lot more often than I lend mine out - but I'd say that mainly has something to do with us not owning a house (or couch) and being on the move a lot!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've had some amazing couch surfing experiences we've both been very fortunate.
1 bad experience.. but.. out of a billion people in India theres bound to be a few rotten ones. It was definitely an eye opening experience but I became a stronger, more independent traveller following.
Interests
I love people, I love photographing people and just seeing how each nation spends their days. I am always so interested in how people spend their lives, the differences and similarities. Nic and I enjoy reading up on world topics and love to sit around the dinner table and discuss the perspectives of others (we can talk/listen for hours!).
I also like to have fun, I'm not really the type to sit on a beach all day, I get bored really easily. I love to meet new people and hear new stories and make new friends.
Oh.. and I love to PARTY! But who doesn't?!
I'm a very opinionated person and love good conversation and very easy to get along with, I love a good debate over a few glasses of wine. After seeing as many things in as many countries as I've been fortunate enough to travel to I have a lot to share.

- dancing
- wine

Music, Movies, and Books
I like reading but never usually find the time to finish what I start. I enjoy world news and reading the accomplishments of others.
I've never really had much time for TV, I prefer talking, partying, eating, cooking and I'm always making new friends.
I also like to blog www.inthespiritofwanderlust.com
I should probably write a lot more often than I do, it's hard to switch it on just like that, I need to be in that frame of mind.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The stories that come out over a few glasses of wine are in that moment only, I couldn't possibly sit here and regale "amazing" memories with giving you the full song and dance charade, that just wouldn't be fair.
What I Can Share with Hosts
