About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To spell Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious backwards without using my fingers and toes.

ABOUT ME
Currently touring Central America

I haven't worked for the past twenty years. Luckily, I get paid to play! My hobbies... being creative and gathering people towards a common goal. (Often takes the form of unplanned road trips.) I love teaching high school Drama. The stories and characters, just can't be scripted. I am so lucky to be able to laugh heartily ever-single-day.

I am just a girl-trying-to-be-a-woman sometime within this millenium, but not before I really have to! A Disney theme parks lover who is quite 'at home' for hours in a bookstore, and needs a trip to the theatre very so often... even when it's not my own show. More comfortable in a coffee house or jazz-lounge type setting, but can booty-shake with the best of them! I also enjoy HIKING which has taken on quite an adjustment now that I live in FLATrida.

My 'real age' defies my 'biological age'... but isn't that the case with all people who work with children and teens on a daily basis?

PHILOSOPHY

"Difficult and Impossible are NOT synonyms."

"Cry more, you'll pee less."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Ever heard of Up With People? I suppose I'm continuing that mission.

Back in Hong Kong,I was a Super Host, who initiated a slew of new Super Hosts because I love "field trips" discovering the sights and sounds where I call home. Not to mention, the CS Locals community was really strong and met almost weekly! It was great to have a group of friends who obviously shared the same interests... travel!

Here in South Florida, it's been quite a different experience. Quite.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've yet to Surf, myself, on an actual couch.

I prefer to be The Hostess.
(I can't really cook though.)

I was warmly welcomed 'For Coffee and Drinks' (and parties) by the Saigon, Seoul, Beijing, and Bangkok communities when I was there.

Interests

Disney, reading, dancing, trivia, board games, cigars, hiking, roller-coasters, learning about history without knowing I'm learning, sightseeing, water (I like boating, inner-tubing, doing cannonballs from the high dive!)

Photography of unusual stuff that prompts discussion:

Music, Movies, and Books

BOOKS: Yes. I like books.
OMG! I can't even narrow this category down, y'all. I still get off on a good picture book. Like 'taking off my head' for an afternoon of trashy romance or teen dramas. Stood in line for each Potter. Looked over my shoulder for months after reading Clancy's or Ludlum's. Laugh out loud in public places with a Hiaasen.

MOVIES: Yes. I like movies.
Faves: The Color Purple, Mean Girls, Mary Poppins, Bourne Supremacy, Order of the Phoenix, Ya-ya Sisterhood

MUSIC: I can't lie, some of that indie stuff and techno crap drives... me.... NUTS! And no, I do NOT think 'world music' is all existential.
But for real... I'm a Black woman from America. I live and love R&B and Hip Hop. (n-o-t Gangsta rap... REAL Hip Hop). And though I'm not Christian myself, I grew up on Gospel music, so I like the music when it's 'feel good' not 'preachy'.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One?!
I apparently do things that other people consider amazing, but it's just normal to me. Such as, when I visited the Great Wall of China, I decided it needed dancing on. Video> http://www.new.facebook.com/share_redirect.php?h=6230d58886bef5bd1de221b6252f3593&url=http%3A%2F%2Fvideo.google.com%2Fvideoplay%3Fdocid%3D-8790687083974104164%26hl%3Den&sid=22062244710

Some of the stuff that usually prompts an 'oh really' is when they find out I was a Disney character, or toured as a dancer in Europe, or how I stage plays, or how I worked within gang situations in my classrooms... but be sure to ask me about "that Spring Break in Thailand." 😏

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm always amazing myself with what I find out what I actually know. but apparently my friends have more confidence in my 'knowledge' because they're always askin' me stuff. And that's how I find out... random Info Purging. HA!
