About Me

**UPDATE: Currently living in New York.**

I do very much enjoy meeting new people and making connections. I love to travel, cook, eat, learn and figure out what this one individual means to the greater puzzle.

I am Baltimore-born and raised (US) and eventually left my hometown to live and pursue Music in Atlanta, Georgia. Later I expanded my creativity and moved to New York City where I learned the greatest about of discipline for my craft and also how to survive as an Artist. Taking those lessons, and enduring the worldwide flip we all experienced, I moved to Los Angeles, where I have been residing for the past year.

There really is so much I can share on here, but anything you want to know can be divulged in conversation.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To explore another way of meeting other travelers, having great conversations and more stories to add and share in my life. I used to limit my traveling abilities to what money I had, or lack thereof. The more I travel, however, the more I realize that it's far less about money and more about community, connectivity and how to be of service and give in other ways than financial means. I'm hoping to expand my discovery through those I meet and share space with on Couchsurfing.

Music, Movies, and Books

🎵MUSIC🎵
Music is my love language. There isn't a genre that I can honestly say I don't like, because I'm bound to discover a song that will change my mind. Because dancing is my freedom, I LOOOOOOOVE Soca, Dancehall and Afrobeat, with no bias against any other genre. I’m here for the art of sound. Favorite band: TANK & THE BANGAS. They're a New Orleans-based band that knows no limit in genre-fusion and it's what I love most about them. Their song "Rollercoasters" was my introduction and I've been hooked ever since.

🍿MOVIES🍿
I love Avatar! It's probably still my favorite movie to date. The world of it and the message it send is simply astounding. Beyond that, there are a plethora of films that I would name favorites and ones I would watch: Soul, The Devil Wears Prada, The Lion King (animated, not live-action), Everything Everywhere All At Once, Rush Hour, Friday, Next Friday...the list goes on.

📚BOOKS📚
Recently, I've finished Ben Okri's THE FAMISHED ROAD and was absolutely blown away! The book is so imaginative yet hauntingly realistic, visceral and illuminating. I could not put it down and did not want it to end.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In early June ‘22, I participated in a 10-day Vipassana Meditation course in Hereford, UK. Changed. My. LIFE! I flew from Los Angeles to the UK just to do the course at the Dhamma Dipa Centre, and I’m so glad I did!

For the first time in my life, I recently experienced what it truly feels like to just flow and trust my intuition. When I was accepted into the Vipassana Meditation course, I made the decision to book a one-way ticket and allow myself to just “Go” until I had to be back in the States near the end of July. So instead of spending the meantime stressing about when work is coming, I spent that time meeting/helping people where I could, practicing mindfulness and trusting the Universe. Hands down, the best decision I have ever made because it was unlike anything I’ve done before - I truly didn’t know what the next day would bring, but every “today” I had was simply heartwarming and inspiring. May all of YOUR journeys be the same.

Teach, Learn, Share

I’d love to TEACH mindfulness and the freedom of self-Love. It seems very woo-woo-woo, but so many people forget how profound and lovingly powerful we are and how our thoughts and words hold more weight than we give credit.

I’d love to LEARN new languages. I have an affinity for Language & Culture, which is why I love traveling every chance I get. The best way to learn, I've been shown, is to immerse oneself into the environment.

I’d love to SHARE the gift of meditation and stillness. More woo-woo-woo, but meditation has heightened my life experience and I am always more than happy to share my experience in it and offer insight wherever it is welcomed.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I feel I can share my story/journey; my love for travel, cooking, singing, sense of peace and openness to the unknowns of life. That sounded so corny, right? The thing is, it’s soooo true. It’s who I am. Certified Cornball. There’s so much more I can type, but I’d rather you get to know me more through active conversation and meeting. Anything you want to know, just ask.
