Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To explore more of Europe and the World whenever I can get out of Spain from time to time.
ABOUT ME
I'm easy going and like to travel mostly for the land and seascapes and the history and architecture I find everywhere I go, not to mention the food, music and the languages! Mostly I just love meeting new people...I get along with most people I meet, but even considering the few times I don't, it's almost always interesting. I was born and mostly grew up in California, but also in Oregon and moved up and down the west coast of the USA most of my life until I came to Spain to study for one year in 1995. ...I'm still here because I fell in love with Granada (specifically the Albayzin and the Sacromonte) though I'm pretty sure I will live in another country or 2 or 3 more at some point in my life. I love going back to visit friends and family in the USA, but am not sure if I'm ready to live there again yet. I would love to see better health care and less guns over there...it would go a long way to convincing me to go back.
PHILOSOPHY
I'm convinced that traveling and meeting people is a great way to learn some of the most important lessons that life has to offer - mostly by watching and listening...and occasionally reflecting over the odd glass of beer or two :P
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have been hosting couch surfers and surfing people's couches since before social media was a phenomena on the world wide web. My friends and I used to go about this using snail-mail, phones and email though I'm really happy to see this concept flourish on the internet. In terms of couchsurfing.org, so far I have just been to a Granada Couchsurfing meeting for tapas (a typical activity here). I also have several friends that have been couchsurfing for years and have recommended it to me. I am looking forward to meeting cool people from different countries to share stories and jokes.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've always been glad to let cool people crash on my couch or spare bed when it was available and have met some of my favorite friends that way. I haven't done this officially (i.e. using this site) up until now, but have had plenty of real-world couch surfing experience (as surfer and host.)
