Hello there! My name is Gerardo and I'm from Mexico City. I'm currently traveling for the first time around Europe.
I'm a very easy going person. I just want to travel and see all the amazing places while meeting other people from around the world.

Back in Mexico I worked in postproduction for an extreme sports channel for two and a half years. Then I decided it was time to quit and travel as I'm not getting any younger and I still have some places I want to go while I have the time.

I have been playing the bass in a HC punk band called Doble D, but still enjoy all kinds of music, from A to Z.

As most people I love movies but I also try to see what's behind making movies. All the people working behind a big production working as a team to release something unique. That's why I really appreciate a very good movie.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Travel around the world it's a big step to take for some people. This is the first time I've planned a trip this long (4 months) and it was difficult for me to get organized. But the desire to travel and experience new things was bigger than the fear I felt. Right now, as I'm writing this, I've been traveling for nearly two weeks and I can tell you that I don't have doubts any more. I'm looking to meet people but most of all this trip for me is a challenge and we have to learn to see the life as a big challenge, nothing is easy but you have to take it the right way and move on. So, I'm in couchsurfing because is a challenge for me to travel making my way through a tight budget giving just my friendship in return. Not all people is willing to do it, so in advanced I give all my respect and confidence to the people who does it. Hope to give something back with my company.

Interests

I like to watch a lot of movies because it gives me a different point of view about how different is the way we think from one place to another. To try to understand the social and cultural ways of other cultures is something that really makes me wonder about all the diverse thinking in this planet. So, movies gives you a perspective from those people who wants to share his view of certain events of this world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being in a band has been a great experience. Through the years we have travel to play in other places inside and outside Mexico. In those years I have met a lot of people from the underground scene and shared stage with some iconic bands from different parts of the world. That would definitely be my most amazing experience; having close friends who you can play music with and still doing it till this days...

I can talk about my experience traveling around the world, about the places and people I've met. I like to share my personal point of view about my country and it's traditions and culture. And at the same time I can learn about other cultures so I can learn and share my opinion.
