ABOUT ME

Bald, curious, and hungry! Just like the day I was born.

I'm trying to visit 30 countries by the time I'm 30!

My friends have often described me as "the dumbest smart person" they know... I guess you can take that as you will.

I prefer pubs over clubs, goofy over reserved, music over silence, and umbrellas over my head.

PHILOSOPHY

Happiness is like jam. It should be spread around and not just bottled up. And it goes exceptionally well with peanut butter sandwiches.

Do all things in moderation, except love. Love in excess, without discrimination, hesitation or reason.

Push yourself outside your comfort zone. In the words of Ms. Frizzle: "Take chances, make mistakes, get messy!"

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted and surfed many times now in many countries, and I have met an incredible range of hippies, yuppies, drinkers, thinkers, yankees, aussies, canucks, geeks, actors, jokesters, musicians and the occasional banana...

Interests

Hmm... things I like to do:
-bargaining with street vendors
-getting lost and then cleverly figuring out where I am... and then getting lost again
-seeking new adrenaline rushes... like jumping out of planes
-playing ultimate frisbee
-dancing like Dave Matthews in public
-staring at maps for hours
-people watching on the subway
-pretending life is a movie
-going for a run and getting passed by some old guy... and then trying to keep up with the old guy cuz heck I'm only 25
-experimenting in the kitchen, especially with spicy food
-keeping in touch with old friends, and making new ones.

Any book by Terry Pratchett, Malcolm Gladwell, Bill Bryson, Tolkein, Douglas Adams of course...

Almost any movie directed by Guy Ritchie (Lock Stock/Snatch/Sherlock Holmes/etc), any movie with Russell Crowe or Sean Connery, the movie What the Bleep Do We Know, Inception...

And of course everything from The Dave Matthews Band, to Carlos Santana, Eric Clapton, T-Pain, The Cat Empire, Ben Folds, The Who among countless others... and of course just about any live music performance!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I worked on the design for the world's tallest building (the Burj Dubai) which is 828m tall... and I played in the British university nationals for ultimate frisbee!

I also went couchsurfing with my mother in Europe!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd love to learn how to dance... and I really would love to learn more about the many cultures of the world! I think personal and cultural exchanges are the most important thing about couchsurfing because it brings people together.

In return, I can teach you how to play ultimate frisbee (or at least explain to you that it is a real sport!), and if you've got a bit of hand-eye coordination, I may even be able to teach how to juggle!

I can also teach you the one cool phrase I know in German that has come in oh-so handy!
